Greg is a pianist born and raised in the Grand Rapids area. He started playing the piano at age 10 by ear, and later benefited from private piano lessons, eventually completing a degree in music education at Grand Rapids Community College. Growing up, he enjoyed participating in music by accompanying school musicals.  More recently, he has performed his own music scores to films shown at Grand Rapids Comic Con.

Greg strives to share his passion for music with his students, and believes that anyone can learn to play and have fun doing it! He likes to focus on the fundamentals of learning music, using an organized course for each student. In addition, he enjoys teaching students the music they would like to learn. Because one of Greg's strengths is playing by ear as well as improvisation, he is also able to teach the fundamentals of chord structure, song dynamics, modes and scales.  These tools have the potential to take a piano student above and beyond in their musical journey!
